Oh Gjelina! We found you by accident when we were hungry at 2:30 on a Tuesday many moons/sunshines ago and you were the only restaurant on Abbot Kinney open to serve. You welcomed us in and we had a seasonal feast at your communal table.
Now the street has filled in and your reservations have filled up, but I will always return for the butterscotch pot de crème. Rich, deep, burnt, thick butterscotch heaven topped with salted caramel and crème fraîche. Oh!!!
After breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, it is a MUST. I have sent so many “clients” your way for this singular delight, and even if I (or, more likely, my pastry chef mom) succeed in duplicating your recipe, I shall continue to order it forevermore.
